5 Activities to Celebrate the End of Summer with Your Kids

Just like that, summer is already coming to a close. The transition back into school is always an exciting one, but don’t get too ahead of yourself, we’ve still got some time left before summer break is over. Make the most of your last few weeks of summer by celebrating the end of summer with your family! Here are some fun activities to try. ☺️☀️

1. Have a Movie Night 🎥

What better way to bond as a family than to snuggle up in the living room and watch a good movie. You can lay out a big blanket on the living room floor with pillows so everyone can stretch out and get cozy. Pick something that the kids and parents will enjoy so that everyone can stay engaged, and don’t forget the popcorn! 🍿

2. Go Camping 🏕

Getting outside with your kids is one of the best ways to bond and it even benefits your health! So leave the electronics behind and head out on one last family camping trip before the school days return. A camping trip will give you plenty of one-on-one time with your kids, allowing some bonding time before you’re away from each other again. 🥰

3. Have a Pool Party ☀️

Nothing says fun in the sun like hanging out by the pool with all of your friends and family. Host a pool party at your home or neighborhood pool and invite neighbors and friends to join in on the fun! Swimming pools are the best way to keep kids entertained and they even give parents a nice, relaxing day too. Just make sure to grab your favorite pool float for the little ones and your California Beach Blanket, of course. 😉

4. Set Off Some Fireworks 🤩

Do you have any leftover fireworks from Fourth of July or Memorial Day? Why not use them up by setting them off with your whole family! Your kids will love this celebratory activity and it’s a great use of any left over holiday supplies. 🙌🏼

5. Host a Sleepover 💤

Have your kids invite a group of their closest friends over to your house for an end of summer sleepover. It will give your kids a chance to make memories with their friends and it will even allow some of the parents to get some time to themselves. Maybe if you’re lucky one of the other parents will host one in return later on! 😉

The end of summer doesn’t have to be a sad time, and rest assured, the summer fun isn’t coming to a close quite yet. Grab your family and plan some fun activities to soak up these last few days of summertime! 🤗⛱🍉
